Mr Basimane Bogopa is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Bogopa, Manewe, Tobedza & Co. He is an attorney, conveyancer and notary public admitted to practice in the High Court of Botswana, Court of Appeal and Subordinate Courts since 2000. He holds an LL.B degree from the University of Botswana and an L.L.M in International Trade Law from the University of Turin in Italy and a Certificate in Corporate due diligence from the University of Cape Town and has 22 (twenty two) years of practical legal experience.
Mr Bogopa’s area of practice focuses on drafting conveyancing and securitisation, corporate and commercial litigation, criminal and civil litigation – specialising in administrative law and intellectual property law (enforcement and protection of registered trademarks). Mr Bogopa has extensive knowledge in Corporate Governance obtained by being trained in Corporate Governance by the Institute of Directors of Southern Africa (IODSA) and has gained experience having served in several Boards of State owned Enterprises.
He has since gained expertise in the drafting of International contracts, dispute resolution, mediation, arbitration, international investment contracts and also drafting of letters of credit. Bogopa is a seasoned trial lawyer and a fraud recovery litigation practitioner with specific focus on recovering proceeds of fraud committed within the banking sector and other financial institutions.
